Why?

Why do trees grow?
When you can cut them down.
Why do people swim?
When they can easily drown.
Why is the sky blue?
When we pollute it so much.
Why does the blind read?
When all they can do is touch.
Why is the grass green?
When all we do is litter.
Why does a husband still love his wife?
When all he does is hit her.
Why is it we can't choose,
When we want to die?
Because God put us on this earth,
To keep us asking, Why?

Our Choir

Raising up our voices,
Filling people's hearts.
The joy they have inside,
Can't be torn apart.
Showing others the way,
With smiles on their faces.
They show their love through music,
On the lines and in the spaces.
Delight they bring to the church,
With Jesus as their Lord.
Each word has a meaning,
Each meaning has a chord.
And when the songs are over,
The singing still goes on.
Because of the happiness in their life,
They get from Christ and his bond.

The One

Ruling for eternity,
Standing over all;
Dressed in elegant purity,
And never gonna fall.
Loving all his children,
With evil beyond the wall;
Having a joyous celebration,
Inviting one and all.

Life

Life is a dream,
Death is a beginning.
To sleep is to live,
To wake up is to die.
Sleep well and
Wake up happy.

Believe

Some followed, some obeyed,
Some left, some betrayed;
Some came, some saw,
Some believed, some denied the law;
Others listened, others acted,
They saw the light, but then retracted;
It should always, be kept within,
That he's the one, who died for our sins.

Apocalypse

Birds fly backwards, water falls up;
No sense of gravity, holding my pants up.
Shoes tie themselves, people walk sideways;
Time is rewinding, but speed is constant.
Trees shrink, water burns;
It all ends, when the world turns.
Who cares who's tall,
God's gonna take 'em all.
Hot turns cold, cold turns hot;
The world's gonna end, I'd better pray a lot.

Am I Forgiven?

Am I forgiven,
For what I have done?
I did not know,
That you were the one.
Many warned me,
Not to ignore you.
I wish I had listened,
And now I face you.
Please forgive me,
I know you can.
Because God made you,
The Son of Man.
I'll pray to you,
Day and night.
Please forgive me,
And I'll make everything right.
As long as you're with me,
I can go to Heaven.
Please tell me,
I am forgiven.

I Have To Know

When I look into her eyes,
I always wants to know.
How she feels about me,
Of what she doesn't show.
I'm afraid it'll hurt me,
So I build an empty wall.
Filled with deep emotion,
Sure to never fall.
But whatever I try to do,
And wherever I try to go.
She'll always be with me,
So I have to let her know.
But I'm afraid of what she'll say,
I'm afraid of what she'll do.
It would be so much easier,
for her to love me too.
But how can I know,
If I'm so afraid to ask.
How did this get to be,
Such a difficult task.
I'm gonna have to ask her,
I'm gonna have to try.
But if she turns me down,
I'll break right down and cry.

Beginning Something New

On your wedding day,
You'll open up your hearts.
And repeat to each other,
Nothing will tear us apart.
It will end something old,
And begin something new.
To forever stay together,
And to each other be true.
Even when in doubt,
(So much that you cry).
Don't ever let your love,
You give each other die.
So when the priest says,
'Till death do us part.
Always keep each other,
Forever in your hearts.

Too Much

We'd turn out the lights,
And light some candles.
I think it was too much,
For me to handle.
We'd talk all night,
And sleep all day.
But it would've only hurt her,
For me to have stayed.
The reason I left,
Was not another woman.
It was because of what we did,
And many others have done.
We fell in Love,
A little too deep.
I would see her everyday,
And in my dreams when I sleep.
I wish I could've done something,
To help us on our way.
But it would've only hurt us,
For me to have stayed.
I was stricken with love,
From head to toe.
Because I loved her,
I had to let her go.

Thinking of Her

Thinking of Her,
Is all I can do.
She's in my thoughts,
And in my actions too.
I can't get over her,
No matter how hard I try.
I try so hard,
I make myself cry.
Can anyone help me,
I'm looking for a way.
To get her out of my mind,
And still see her everyday.

Lost in Love

With compassion and harmony deep inside,
Promising each other never to leave the other's side.
Holding each other in their arms,
He tells her he loves her and gives her his charm.
After all the hard times they're together at last,
Nothing in the world to remind them of their past.
Day by day and night by night,
Always knowing that it is right.
Forever lost in love they'll always be,
I'll never forget the moment it hit me.

Secret Love

I wish she knew,
I wish she had known,
How I felt about her,
When we were alone.
I tried to tell her,
But she had things to do,
I loved her so,
I wish she loved me too.
I loved to look at her,
With her beautiful smile,
Just to be with her,
I'd travel a thousand miles.
If I had the chance,
I'd do it again,
Just to see her,
Time and time again.

Introduction to Poem Blog

I am posting all of my poems here, starting from when I was in ninth grade, until now. Some are about love, some are about hate, some are about spiritual topics. I'll start from the very first poems I wrote at a young age and try to post them chronologically, if I can. Some are well organized, some are scribbled on scraps of paper. They are all without dates, so I will do my best. I've had many ups and downs in this life and it most definitely reflects in my writings. Moments of Joy, Love, Happiness, Sadness, Depression, and Madness- all written down for a glimpse into my mind as time progressed. I sincerely Thank You All for reading them!
